The Welsh singer shares a “wonderful way” to remedy whatever gets you down

Hannah Grace just released a song that’s incredibly fitting for the sad and strange times we live in. Titled “Wonderful Way,” the singer shares a hopeful message that provides comfort amid the bleak news headlines.

A dear friend of mine sent me the song earlier this week and it’s just what I needed to soothe my soul.

“Wonderful Way” is a potent antidote to all the doom and gloom with its calming qualities and uplifting message. It poignantly acknowledges life’s challenges while serving up peace and solace. It’s a song that can be interpreted a million different ways and apply to just as many situations. In other words: It showcases high-grade songwriting that is universally understood and will fiercely resonate with those who need it the most.

Before I gush more about the immaculate qualities of “Wonderful Way,” let me take a moment to introduce you to its talented creator, Hannah Grace. Hailing from the rugged countryside of Wales, Grace is certainly not new to the scene. She has caught the ear of people like Lady Gaga and radio jock Dermot O’Leary who sang her praises in recent years.

Grace released her debut LP, titled Remedy, last summer that is filled with heartwarming soul-pop. Taking us through the highs and lows of the last three years of her life, she created a lockdown-induced, homemade musical remedy for whatever adversity you may be facing. Make sure to tune in to tracks like the Rufus Wainwright-esque, subtly majestic “Healing Hands” and “Live Like Love” that’s a moving tale about surrendering to the greatest power of all.

Grace’s healing storytelling is never trivial or overly-sentimental. It’s delicately packed in beautiful songwriting that’s imaginative yet straight to the point. Her debut album is a perfect example of that and so is the brand-new “Wonderful Way” that she aptly released on the first day of the new year to set an upbeat tone for 2021.

“Wonderful Way” is a story about how to best cope with worry. The singer writes on Instagram, “Since I was a child my family have always reassured me when I’ve been anxious or worried, and my Dad always used to say to me, ‘remember to breathe .’I always used to think that this was such a wonderful way to put it, because we can so often forget the simple things, and taking a moment to just stop and take a big deep breath can be so worthwhile for your mind and body.”

“I feel like 2020 was a worrying year for many of us, for lots of different reasons, so I thought it made sense to release this song today while we start a brand new year,” she concludes.

Skillfully produced by and co-written with Bastille’s Dan Smith, the healing quality of “Wonderful Way” applies to any kind of worry that you may face. Per the chorus, “Breathe in, breathe out. Everything will be alright, I know it’s gonna be just fine. Feel high, feel low. All we gotta do is try be kind.” It’s a wonderful message by a wonderfully-gifted singer who has a way with her music. Hannah Grace spreads her healing pop superpower one word, one chord and one song at the time. I applaud her.
